Mascot announcement, workshops and more!
Dear CaDansians,
Spring is in the air! Flowers are blooming, insects are buzzing, birds are nesting… And one very special bird chose to set up camp at De Meenthe in Steenwijk. Read on to find out more!
Aside from some ornithological fun facts, this newsletter contains updates on ticket sales, accommodations, and the workshop programme.
Our new mascot!
The newest inhabitant of De Meenthe is usually shy, but they have chosen to show off their lovely colours at the next edition of CaDansa. This little pescatarian is often seen swiftly flying along rivers. Maartje de Goede has beautifully portrayed them in the middle of a typically Dutch landscape. Maybe you’ve guessed the new mascot already (or maybe you have seen a sneak preview of this year’s poster at a festival): it’s the common kingfisher!
Below you see it depicted in all its glory – along with the bands that are coming to play for us in October! Curious about the programme? Follow us on Facebook and Instagram, we will share more information about the programme there.
Workshops
Speaking of the programme of CaDansa 2025: we have more exciting news for you all. At the next edition of CaDansa, there will be an extra workshop location, which means: more workshops!
The range of topics covered is diverse as always. We’ll give you a sneak peak into a part of the programme: both Remy Géffroy AND Benjamin Macke (Shilelagh) will offer an advanced accordion workshop. You can join Selma Emiroglu for circle singing (a singing circle!). By popular demand, the workshop Dance to your limits will return (for anyone whose body sometimes struggles with dancing). Koen Dhondt will teach no less than four dancing workshops! And, lastly, Gabriel Lenoir (Shilelagh) will explore Flemish dances with you.

If you want to make your CaDansa experience extra cozy, you can share an accommodation with other CaDansians. In the CaDansa ticket shop, you can book a room in a group accommodation on the vacation park vacation park Résidence de Eese. The following options will be available:
- 2-person box bed – €180 (€90 per person). A double mattress in a box bed. Very cozy with limited space for luggage, but the most affordable option!
- 2-person room – €300 (€150 per person). You can choose between a double room, twin room, or room with a bunk bed, depending on the accommodation.
- 4-person room – €540 (€135 per person). A room with two single beds and a bunk bed for two people. Only a few available.
If you need it, transport to and from the festival is included. The rooms are available from Wednesday night until Monday morning. The sleeping spots are sold by room, so now is a good time to find festival buddies to room with!
