What can help you to dance more smoothly, learn new dances more easily, and can just help you to enjoy the whole moving to music more? A better understanding of your body and how it moves! The Feldenkrais method will help you to understand this better. This is done by observing with curiosity how you move your body, finding a way how you can do this with less effort, and learning how you can move yourself differently. Learning all this will help you feel more at home in your body, and it will affect the way you dance.
During a Feldenkrais class we will mostly be laying on the floor, making rather subtle movements, with everybody going into exploration by themselves, while guided by Louise’s questions. It’s almost like a meditation.
NB: Please bring warm, loose clothes in layers, to prevent you from cooling down too much. If you have the opportunity to bring a yoga mat and/or a blanket, that would be very nice. The class will be in English (so it’s important you understand the language well), because it’s not about copying movements. It is your own exploration led by the words of Louise. The 2 classes will be similar, but different. There is a maximum of 12 participants.
